Episode 0 set the tone for me as far as how much the two sisters love each other. Really reminds me of the feelings I have for my own twin sister, who happens to have the same name as I do. However, from a certain website’s descriptions, I was led to believe that the series would show the progression of events that led to Yukino showing her feelings for Kanade. However, that was not the case. The real deal was the vice versa. Yuki is really open to her feelings for her sister Kanade; although Kana was more in the closet with her feelings and was more embarrassed than Yuki was with the whole relationship.

Enter in Saku, who has a major crush on Kanade, however that same website’s descriptions had me believe she was into Yuki as opposed to Kanade. Not so, website. Not so. Over the course of the show, we see their little sister Shi, who actually feels left out of the relationship and wants to be as close to them as Yuki and Kana are to each other. Rather sad when I saw it, but Kana made Shi feel better soon afterwards.

The music in the show didn’t really leave me any memorable impressions, (as in, I don’t remember hearing any…even if there was light music in the series.) The story and plot was nice to watch, although I wish the show was much longer than it initially was. There were so many jumps in time and content. I’m aware that even the minutes in one show are rather short, so content may feel like it’s crammed in.

My twin sister told me that there is like four episodes worth of stuff inside a single episode. I don’t disagree with her. She is also the one that recommended this show to me. Or rather, reminded me that I wanted to watch it.

With that, my final thoughts on this short, sweet, lovable series is that I recommend this to anyone who likes yuri and also a good laugh. On that certain website, I rated the show a 7 out of 10. However, I myself don’t believe in ratings. I’ll just say that this isn’t the best show I’ve ever seen, but I’ve also seen worse. I also just realized that this statement doesn’t really mean much. We see some breasts rather soon in the series, as per usual in Queen’s Blade. Although the episode was rather disappointing in what I expected the show to be. Overall, a rather tame episode that had a lot of character development for the two main heroines. Not complaining a bit, though. Just maybe a tad about the inconsistency of the lack of melted clothes.

Trace Memory is a rather short game of six chapters, and the puzzles are rather interesting, but one of the puzzles looks hard, but there’s a trick to it.  I rather liked the plot of Trace Memory, but I wished it was a lot longer. Hotel Dusk, though, is very long. Ten chapters of fun filled puzzles and intrigue make this game over 15 hours of play. (And that’s by following a walkthrough.)

The puzzles aren’t that difficult, and the choices to make to avoid a game over are somewhat rather obvious, but tempting to choose at the same time.  I beat Trace Memory in a little over a day (I had work when I started playing it, so I couldn’t beat it in one sitting. I could have if I didn’t have work.), and Hotel Dusk took me two days to beat.

One of the things I liked about Hotel Dusk is the random code/number generator so that way things will never be the same in a playthrough.

Same with Trace Memory. The codes are the same, but conversations change a bit, and a few things change also, but overall everything’s the same. But that’s only for the first two playthroughs. A third playthrough nets you the experience from your first playthrough. It’s the exact same, and fourth is the same as the second, etc.

I’m glad I picked up Hotel Dusk. It’s a really good experience as I held my DS sideways like a book.

The last topic, is Guin Saga. I’m sure you’ve noticed my lack of posts about it lately. That’s because there are a lack of subs out. If I was fluent in Japanese, this wouldn’t be an issue. Although I could attempt to watch the Raws and make a guess as to what’s going on. Anyone want me to do that?
