We see some breasts rather soon in the series, as per usual in Queen’s Blade. Although the episode was rather disappointing in what I expected the show to be. Sure there were breasts and lots of fanservice, but nothing to really get me off. This episode was rather tame than compared to the first episode. But I liked the main girls in the episode either way.

The girl on the far right is one of the new main girls. She’s an ex-demon ninja that became friends with one of the miko at the shrine, who happens to be the representative for the Queen’s Blade tournament. And we learn a bit about the Queen’s Blade itself. It’s an actual item that you win in the tournament that gives you money and power. Okay, so now I know that it’s not just a name that came out of nowhere.

Well it’s nice that the graphic content doesn’t let up in this episode. They were pretty quick, but the girls kicked some major ninja ass. And then the ninja all formed up and transformed into a very large frog.

Now that’s some slimey fanservice. It’s acid slime that burns off their clothes and is yet sticky to them. The ironic thing is that a few seconds later, all the girls have their clothes on again. It’s like what happened to the slime that melted your clothes off? You’re supposed to be almost naked! Oh well, not that big of a deal.

So I get to see the ‘me’ of the episode get a little fanservice being restrained. Of course, she easily escapes and promptly defeats the new head of the demon ninjas. Good riddance. So the two decide to travel together for the Queen’s Blade tournament.

Overall, a rather tame episode that had a lot of character development for the two main heroines. Not complaining a bit, though. Just maybe a tad about the inconsistency of the lack of melted clothes.

NOT SAFE FOR WORK!

So I decided to pick up Queen’s Blade. I don’t know if I have a unique taste, or am so far desensitized that stuff doesn’t bother me as it should, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of Queen’s Blade.

That’s not to say that I believe it’s a really great anime. Far from it. I just thoroughly enjoy it, that’s all. There’s a difference between an anime being well done, and enjoying an anime. It could be a horrible anime, but still have a rather good enjoyment factor depending on someone’s tastes. As far as my tastes are concerned, it has succeeded.

The first episode starts us off with some action. The “premise” for Queen’s Blade is that of a tournament to see who the strongest woman is, and then she will become Queen. That’s pretty much the whole plot for the series, as we see the lead girl Leina and how she develops through the episode. In almost every anime I watch, I find a character that I can relate to and point to and say “That’s me”.

With this series, that character is Risty, the Bandit of Desert Justice.

Now, I’ll tell you that there are six characters that are introduced in this episode. People may criticize and exagerate and say that there are a “ton” of characters, but there’s only six introduced. Risty, Leina, Melona, Claudette, Elina, and Nanael (although as of first episode, we don’t know the angel girl’s name is Nanael).

The only characters we know of, are the three sisters (Leina, Elina, Claudette) and Risty. I don’t know about anyone else that watched this show, but I understood what was going on. It may be becauase I’m a woman, but I wasn’t really distracted by the very gorgeous breasts and women on my screen to bypass the plot.

As I said before. The only plot that exists for this show, is the tournament “Queen’s Blade”. We do not know when it originated or why. It’s just there.

This would be the pretty woman Risty that I had just spoken about. Most of the women have large breasts in this series, and wear skimpy clothes. It’s an ecchi show, what do you expect?

I can see why she’s called Melona. Her body can shape shift into liquid and her hair is formed like hands that squeeze her breasts. That’s not milk, that’s acid. She burns away Leina’s clothes and leaves her stark naked for the most part.

Yeah, she just pissed herself out of fright. She does this one more time in the anime. I can tell that this anime will address various fetishes every episode. I can’t wait to see what the next fetish would be. Risty doesn’t really have a fetish, I don’t think. Unless you count her massive breasts.

Nanael appears after everything is said and done, (as angels are supposed to monitor battles for the Queen’s Blade, and she always seems to fail.) and is upset she missed everything.

Too bad, Nana-chan. Maybe next time.

Or not. Come on, girl. Get your game straight. I wonder how many more times she’s going to fail in the series. Will she ever get to watch a battle?
